Tree Surgery David James and his team at Active Tree Care Ltd have skilfully developed techniques of removing trees within restricted areas. Specialist lowering systems are used by the company which enable the most challenging of jobs to be skilfully completed. Projects: A group of protected (T.P.O.’d) Cedar trees located close to houses within a residential area of Taunton were inspected by David James as part of a routine Tree Safety Inspection. David diagnosed Sparassis crispa to be present at the base of the trees and, after carrying out further tests, David condemned the group and an application was submitted to the L.P.A. A large number of objections were received and the decision went through to a Committee Hearing. David’s presentation was made and permission was granted. The images show the trees being section felled by Active Tree Care Ltd and the extent of decay at the base of the trees. The last image shows the site as it is now and the replacement Oak tree supplied and installed by Active Tree Care Ltd. If this fungus had not been detected by David James the consequences could have been catastrophic.
